After a long drive we picked this motel at random. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Given fresh milk for our coffee which was a nice touch. Room with a balcony was just what we needed , clean and comfortable. Best nights sleep so far after 2 weeks of traveling. Fish and chips on the balcony with a glass of wine, perfect. Short walk to the beach with great views. Walking distance to shops and places to eat.

Everything is close. Beach. Fish shop, special Mondays and another fs. Tuesday. Good Chinese… gardens. Dominos Pizza 5 min away. My room had fridge microwave and toaster. A jug, coffee and tea. Good bed. A few comments mentioned limits on WiFi, when i asked, an extra card was given at no charge. Even when i didn’t ask, a card for extra WiFi time was offered free of charge. Great attitude by all staff.

We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are a bit old fashioned but you get what you pay for! Everything was clean. Friendly reception. The beach and Wharf street are only a block or so walk away. There are also some nice parks close by.

Our check in was friendly and fast. Location is excellent with the beach just around the corner, lots of shops, cafes and restaurants all close by. The rooms are clean beds are comfortable. While some of the facilities are old they work and are in reasonable condition. My only gripe would be a lack of power points and slow WiFi. Would definitely come back again and again.

Your classic basic Aussie motel- cheap as chips. Car parked right at my door, walk to the beach, the iconic bridge and the best of Forster ‘main street’ shops and restaurants. Fresh milk on arrival (I love that, can’t stand UHT milk) and with a bush fire crisis and the town all booked up, they made up a room for me. I can’t thanks them enough.

We stayed in a family room it was clean and neat plenty of room, good pool to cool off in and central location. Next time I would ask for a room at the back as our room was on the road and was a bit noisy with traffic other than that it was a good stay and the young girl in the office was great sorting out some booking issues very friendly.

We stayed for one nite budget room. it has balcony we loved it. Room is clean, quiet. It is walking distance to water and restaurants. Staff are very nice and helpful. They also have lots of pets, cat, dogs, and a beautiful dragon at reception.(kids might like here more lol).

The only imperfection was internet, it was supposed to have free wifi but wifi kept dropping for some reason on that day while we stayed. You might need to buy $5 internet data card if you seriously need internet.

Overall we had great stay at goldensands!

After driving from the Gold Coast, we Googled somewhere to stay and this was the close.st to pop up near where we were. It was getting late and I was stoked when someone answered the phone. Veronica was amazing and organised us a room, suggested places close by for meals at such a late hour. We were pleasantly surprised by the room and thought it was really clean and tidy.

Would highly recommend a stay here for anyone one a bit of a budget, especially if the personality of the staff is something you consider to be important
